What is Aloe Vera?

It stays moist where other plants would wilt and die, closing its pores to prevent the loss of moisture. There are over 400 varieties of aloes, but it is the Aloe Barbadensis Miller (Aloe Vera) it’s a mouthful, but it’s a name worth knowing; which has been of most use to mankind because of the medicinal properties it diplays.

Records of this plant exist on Sumerian clay tablets from as early as 2200 BC.
